The Network forms the fundament of agri benchmark Beef and Sheep and comprises 30 countries with a large variety of partner institutions – also referred to as 'research partners'.
A good proportion of partners are universities and research institutions but affiliation to these groups is not a precondition for a partnership. The expertise in the field of production systems and their economics, the access to producers and advisors and the institutional support are the most important criteria. As a consequence, producer organisations, ministries, advisory companies and even marketing organisations form part of the network.
