The Beef & Cow-Calf branch of the agri benchmark project is now renamed to agri benchmark Beef and Sheep Network after the sheep analysis was included in 2010. It covers the production systems cow-calf, beef finishing, ewe and lamb finishing.

Apart from the standard analysis of production systems and their economics for a growing number of countries, the following additional activities are foreseen for 2010:
a) Intensify the analysis of emissions that was started in 2008 by improving data for feed production and transport and including the sequestration of carbon in grassland.
b) Extend and strengthen the combined analysis of cow-calf and beef finishing enterprises to cover the whole cycle from birth to slaughter.
