Network
Access to first hand farm information and communication with decision makers in primary production are key to our analysis. Thus, we need a network of professionals and decision makers from science, industry, policy, producers, their organisations and extensionists. We work with research partners who provide the data from their country and overcome language barriers. The research partners have access to local experts (advisors) and producers in their countries. They collect and double-check the farm (and sector) data and share them with the agri benchmark centre where data are processed and results are distributed and published. “Put your country in and get the world back” is the motto of the activity.

Unique global farm data sets
We manage a unique global data base of typical farms and production systems for crops, horticulture, beef, sheep, pigs, poultry and selected fish species. The data cover capital inputs (machines, buildings, equipment), labour organisation and input, land use, crop operations, animal numbers, performance and feed, overhead and finance cost on whole-farm level as well as variable costs on enterprise/activity level. This allows a total returns, cost and profitability analysis. Data is updated annually and not older than 1 year.

Tailormade studies
Farms are affected by and react to changing framework conditions like output and input price variations, legislation and support policies but also try to realise own development steps. We can assist you to find answers to your questions in tailor-made projects.

Sector data
You look for information how livestock inventories, production and consumption in individual countries developed? You would like to know how trade volumes and values as well as key livestock prices developed? We have this data for countries participating in the beef, sheep, pig and poultry networks.

Publications
Theses
We invite bachelor, master and post-doc students to cooperate and work with us on relevant topics in the world of agriculture. For this we can provide data and expertise from the agri benchmark network and expect in return a contribution to the network and data infrastructure or answers to specific questions. We are also happy to share data and expertise for common publications. A list of thesis topics is shown below. We do, however, encourage students to come up with own ideas. For this, please contact the relevant network manager.
