Pig Conferences
The annual Pig Conferences are the main event of the agri benchmark Pig activities.
In our conferences we discuss the results of our annual benchmarking exercises for sows / piglet production, piglet rearing and pig finishing. They are complemented by the analysis of latest developments on global, regional and country level. In addition, we are discussing burning issues of the sectors, for example health situation, trade issues, animal welfare, marketing efforts and various performance indicators. In addition, we have field trips to get a first-hand impression of local livestock production, processing and marketing. Cultural events and BBQs are completing the picture. The Global Forum prior to the internal workshop hosts decision-makers from Pig value chain in a common event with the Poultry and Beef / Sheep Networks.
Our conferences take place in June every year and are alternately hosted in Europe in one year and out of Europe in the following year. The conference 2026 will be held in Pretoria, South Africa from 22.-25.06.2026 and hosted by our partners from the Bureau for Food and Agricultural Policy (BFAP).

As in the previous year, also the Global Forum event was a full success.

The agri benchmark Conference 2024 was proudly hosted by Atria, in the picturesque city of Seinäjöki, Finland. For the first time, we merged the livestock branches Pig, Poultry and Beef / Sheep in one big conference event. The Global Forum served as an interface between the Beef and Sheep and the Pig and Poultry conferences. The new concept proved successful and was able to attract more interest with decision makers and sponsors, offering the full range of meat production analysis.

Together with our Hungarian partner Research Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI) and the InterPIG goup, we decided to move the physical meeting by one year to June 2021.
