The agri benchmark network has inspired and fuelled lessons at home. In Canada, we maintain a national network of typical beef farms, designed to build extension capacity and resources that support producer competitiveness. This work was inspired by networks in other countries. In addition, case studies are done comparing benchmarks to the extensive international network. Being part of the agri benchmark network has provided ideas and lessons, from like-minded colleagues around the world.

The agri benchmark network is great opportunity to gain more experience about beef production systems and markets in different countries including their advantages, disadvantages and challenges in the regions. We often use the reliable farm data from countries all over the world and data from our local network, when we publish reports for our clients. The annual Beef and Sheep conference as a discussion platform allows us to exchange information, what is currently going on in the beef sector worldwide. To have access to current information is important and also interesting for a small cattle-country like Austria.
Martín Mongelós
de Raíz, Paraguay
“For De Raíz, agri benchmark has become an essential reference to understand the economic performance and strategic drivers of beef production systems worldwide. Its combination of comparable, reliable data and a genuinely collaborative network allow us to position Paraguay within global dynamics and design better-informed interventions for producers, investors, and institutions. The annual Beef and Sheep Conference is particularly valuable, offering concentrated technical insight, market intelligence, and peer learning. Beyond the technical benefits, being part of agri benchmark has opened doors to collaborations and applied research projects that we would not have accessed otherwise. These partnerships have strengthened our service offering and contributed meaningfully to the growth and stability of our organisation. It is a network that generates understanding, opportunities, and long-term value.”

agri benchmark provides us with an excellent overview of agricultural systems around the world thanks to a rich database on the economics of farms worldwide. The network allows us to connect with agricultural experts from a large number of countries who help us identify the key drivers of performance which is a great asset when it comes to international competitiveness.

Over the last few decades, production of corn and soybeans has expanded across many parts of the world driven primarily by population and income growth in low-income and middle-income countries. Emerging economies have increasingly driven global agricultural markets and are expected to continue to do so over the next decade. Understanding how production costs and profitability compare across the main agricultural regions is crucial for evaluating global competitiveness, anticipating trade flows, and informing farm management decisions.

SA Canegrowers has been a partner of agri benchmark for more than a decade. The insights and data that the network generates are invaluable and unique. We have not come across another platform that offers the same amount of in-depth insights into the sugar world.
